Yeap! I had neither the time and/or energy left to update this blog that we all know nobody reads. (But I update it anyway) :D
Okay, if you DO follow my updates, then I must congratulate you for your resiliency. Being able to read some nobody's wheezing waffle without falling asleep at your [[insert immediate area here]] is no mean feat!
Alright, starting frrroomm.. the Sunday before the last, which is on the twelth of April. Yeah.
Sunday: Packed clothes and other necessities as we were going back to Malaysia to celebrate dear Grandmother's birthday and to 'respect the dead' (which is.. totally awkward as we Never did such things *note capitalled N*). I was reluctant to go (although I really want to, but I was afraid to miss out the important things that needs to be done. Gotta get priorities right, ya know?) as I had orientation on the next day and SPICE (some e-learning thing we use) training on the day after. I went anyway as my mother left me with no choice (and also partly I wanted to go. Oh grandma!! :D:D).
We left the house round 2300hrs and my dad drove allll the way back. It is some 400km like that. I then had my earstuds on and watched Singapore go by. Then it was the Tuas Secondlink. And then the gimongous palm plantations (Palmtations HAHA!!) and other things along the highway.
At 0200 hrs, we stopped at this.. shopping place in the middle of the highway that was like an overhead bridge over the highway. Except there were shops like KFC and other retail sports shops! I can understand the KFC, but the retail shops?! It would be One of the Shittiest locations if not the Shittiest.
Okay so anyway we had some KFC and I bought some panadol from the nearby petrol station. I had some communication problems with the Indian shopkeeper. I didn't know whether to use what little Malay I knew or just try to use English with sign languages. I gave it a shot and tried the English first, but decided against it as I felt the conversation going downhill and used 'what little Malay I knew'. I asked for panadol and said I wanted to buy two strips of the pills. Got what I wanted and went back into the car. I thanked him, of course, in hopes to make his day better as when I entered the shop, he was pissed at these huge flying bugs that are seasonal making a mess in his shop with thier dead bodies (and he was sweeping the floor).
Dad then drove us all the way. Got lost a little, but not as severely as the last time.
Monday: Hey! I already mentioned some Monday above!
Anyway, when we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our grandparents. We then caught up with some sleep. At 1500hrs, we went to Jaya Jusco to shop for clothes and other stuffs. I bought two long black, Forest pants. I chose them above others as they had many pockets and zips. One of them even had pockets near the ankle, which makes it perfect for concealing knives or stuff.. heh heh.. >:D. I also bought these two shirts that came for the price of one. Well, they were supposed to be worn together (I guess. but I wear them seperately anyway). It was a jet black button shirt and a scarlet T underneath. I was hesitant at first as the scarlet shirt wasn't crimson, which would look damn good with the black shirt and be more.. Me. The crimson would resemble fresh blood, against the black button shirt, reminiscent of The Night Sky.
After that, we went back home (I would refer my gran's house as 'Home' until further notice) and prepared to go out again. I wore my new clothes, the black shirt with red underneath and the pants with pockets at the ankles.
We, the whole family (grandparents + mum and family + 2nd aunt and family + 3rd aunt and family + 4th aunt and family + uncle + 5th aunt and family. About 23 people in all) went to Jun Kee Restaurant and had our many course meal. We bought 2 sets as there were many to accomodate. After that, a fruit cake arrived. We sang 'Happy Birthday' to grandmother and ate the cake. Despite it not being from an internationally recognised bakery, it was DELISHIOUS!! It tasted so good that I ate so much and felt nauseous. :D
After that, we went back.. nothing else here.
Tuesday: We woke at 7+ and left to some.. Buddhist mountain cemetery. The trip there was kinda boring and a little nauseating as there were many turns and ups and downs. There, we visited this Dragon sculpture thing that is the largest in the world, and contained the ashes of the dead. It was like a corridor of dead people as they were put into shelves that reached the ceiling. We went to see my great, great grandad, great grandad and a grand aunt. After doing so, we toured the cemetery. My grandad then brought us to this departed singer's grave. She had a large grave! It was 4 units large. There was also her works playing on loop and a small statue of a piano. I guess that song playing on loop was her best seller and the piano, her forte.
We then went to do more grave visiting at some pagoda. The interior of the pagoda, was like a library of dead people. There were rows of pigeon-hole shelves and there were many storeys. We went to visit my paternal grandad, who died of nose cancer, which he suffered for a short two years. On his jar, was a necklace with a cross and a seal containing 'A friend of the Lord', which we suspected was the work of my uncle, who translates Chinese preachings to Cantonese. We also went to visit one of Mum's cousins, whom I suspect suffered cardiac arrest in her sleep. Diagonally beside, was also someone who died, the next day that aunt died. So many people dead. :I
After that, I went to visit my eldest sister, whom I have Never met in my life, as she died before I was born. I looked at her picture and thought how life would be with her around. Would I even be here, typing all these? Would I even be using English as my primary language? Would I even Be in Singapore and have an education here? Or, would I even be born..? These questions struck me hard in the head. I felt quite sad, not even having the chance to speak to her, or to know her.. I would very much like to meet her.. :I
She died at the age of twelve. A vessel ruptured in her head. My elder sister suspects she had deep vein trombosis, where a blood clot is formed at the inferior vena cava, which then travels to the lungs or the head, blocking an artery, then ruptures due to the immense pressure. Also known as embolism. It'd be nice to even meet her in my sleep, though. Honest. :I
After that, we went to visit my paternal aunts. We went to the chicken rice stall of my eldest paternal aunt and had lunch. They are not dead, of course. The old people then had their conversation in cantonese. My sister, grandad and I were bored as we (my sister and I) couldn't understand majority of what they were saying, and my grandad was not involved in what they were talking about. Which I believe was the discussion over who should inherit my paternal grandparents house in Ipoh.
We went back after their damn loooooong conversation. I went back up to sleep as my fever was at its somewhat worst. I woke then went to my third aunt's house to try to fix up her wireless connection, but failed as it was much different from the one I fixed in the Singapore house.
Wednesday: Went to some fancy restaurant in some shopping center to have some dim sum with my paternal aunts. I was on my best and awkward behaviour as I did not want to attract attention to myself. After that, we went back. Or did we? We got lost for an hour or so! ¬_¬
When we finally found our way back and reached home, we packed our stuff and were prepared to leave. We then bid our relatives good bye and went back home (Singapore).
We left round 1700hrs and reached Johor at 2100hrs. It was much quicker than usual as my dad was driving at 140km/hr. We then had some food there and went back..
See ya! :D
